Meet Kim: Kim is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is deeply committed to supporting adolescents and adults as they navigate life’s complexities. She works with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, self-esteem concerns, and other life stressors. Kim considers it a true privilege to walk alongside clients during both the difficult and transformative seasons of their lives.
Clients working with Kim can expect a therapeutic experience that is warm, collaborative, and grounded in empathy. She is intentional about creating a safe and supportive environment where individuals feel free to be authentic, explore difficult emotions, and develop deeper self-understanding. Kim views each client as the expert of their own story and believes meaningful change occurs when compassion is balanced with thoughtful guidance and practical tools. A central focus of her work is fostering self-compassion, helping clients learn to relate to themselves with greater kindness, patience, and understanding.
Kim integrates evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Her style is flexible and individualized, meeting clients where they are while gently guiding them toward healing, growth, and greater alignment with their values. When meaningful to the client, Kim welcomes the integration of personal beliefs, values, and spirituality into the therapeutic process.
Kim earned her Associate of Arts from Rock Valley College, her Bachelor of Science in Human Development from Rockford University, and her Master of Social Work from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She has extensive experience serving individuals and families in the Rockford area across various ages and life stages, addressing a wide range of emotional and relational concerns. This breadth of experience informs her thoughtful, developmentally attuned approach to care.
Outside of her professional work, Kim enjoys spending time outdoors hiking and biking, cooking, reading and listening to audiobooks, and relaxing with a good movie. She values meaningful time with friends and family and is actively involved in volunteering through her church.
