Matt Hahn

LPC

Matt Hahn is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Adler University. With a rich and varied clinical background, Matt has dedicated his life to the Rock River Valley community. He provides individual and couples therapy, primarily utilizing Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) to foster insight and awareness of thoughts, emotions, and enduring behavioral patterns.

 

In his therapeutic practice, Matt emphasizes a comprehensive understanding of a client’s core issues before implementing intervention strategies. These core issues may arise from developmental challenges, attachment styles, family dynamics, or personality traits, often manifesting in both productive and nonproductive ways over time. Matt’s clinical approach is adaptable, frequently focusing on identifying and addressing the root causes of difficulties to create space for acceptance, gratitude, and personal growth.

 

Matt’s clinical experience spans both inpatient and outpatient settings, alongside community private practice environments. He is well-versed in cognitive, personality, and projective assessment techniques, drawing from this knowledge to deliver an integrative, strengths-based approach to mental health care.

 

Beyond his clinical work, Matt has a diverse professional background, including experience in sales, sales leadership, manufacturing, and telecommunications. He also operates a small business and possesses a keen interest in the dynamics that affect high-functioning individuals. In his personal time, Matt enjoys home remodeling, caring for his small farmette, engaging in agricultural projects, and rescuing animals. The Hahn household is home to a variety of animals, including a horse, a donkey, two dogs, two sugar gliders, two rats, a barn cat, and occasionally, sheep.
