Meet Oswald:
Good day to you all! I’m Oswald Linus Didier. I’ve been with Forest City Counseling since the fall of 2022. I am our office gentle giant and therapy dog with a heart even bigger than my paws. Despite my size, I have been told I have an old soul since I was 8 weeks old. I think this helps me to bring a grounded, calming presence to every session.
My greatest joy is being outdoors—though I insist on never being alone. During a session, don’t be surprised when I demand to be let out and back in at least 2–3 times; I just REALLY hope one day you’ll get it and go out on the patio with me!
My intuition for the needs of my clients is so spot on I don’t even understand it. Depending on the energy of the room, I just seem to know exactly when it’s time to be a total goofball to break the tension or when it’s time to lean in for a deep, grounding snuggle.
I’m particularly fond of working with depression and emotion identification. My steady, quiet companionship provides a safe harbor during low moment or for those who struggle to put their feelings into words, I guess it’s kind of like acting as a mirror, helping clients connect with their emotions through the simple, honest bond between human and dog.
When I’m OOO (Out Of the Office), you can find me pleading for one more walk or watching the world go by on a nice cool slab of concrete! I love people, but they sure wear me out so I need my alone time.
